Empowering the residents of the Texas Panhandle region to resolve all types of conflicts and disputes through the use of mediation and arbitration.
Mediation is the primary service offered by the Panhandle Dispute Resolution Center—and it’s a simple, respectful way to work through conflict without going to court.
In mediation, two or more people meet with a trained, neutral mediator, either in person or online. The mediator isn’t a judge and doesn’t take sides, make decisions, or give legal advice. Instead, they help guide the conversation so everyone has a chance to be heard, better understand each other, and work toward a solution together.
Mediation is voluntary, confidential, and focused on finding a path forward—not placing blame or deciding who is right or wrong. You stay in control of the outcome the entire time.
The process is also flexible and efficient. Sessions are scheduled at times that work for everyone and usually take place within a few weeks of receiving a request. If an agreement is reached, the mediator can help put it in writing.
